April 2017 Influences

Aries.jpg

The expression this month is SUPPRESSED PASSION or ENLIGHTENED FIRE. It’s up to you. The tarot card is the TEN OF CUPS: PASSION.

The passionate feeling from March continues into April. It starts off where March left off – with a bang.

It makes sense as three planets are still in Aries at the beginning of the month. This firey cardinal sign is the warrior asking for courage and fearlessness.

However, there’s a good deal of suppression energy too with three planets, Mercury, Saturn and Pluto going retrograde throughout the month, joining Venus (until midmonth) and Jupiter (until June).

Reaching for your higher self will help you accomplish your life’s mission. The passionate energy is there if you have the courage to dive deeply and explore yourself entirely – with honesty and objectivity.

Astrology:

Week 1:

This is an excellent week to get things done, complete projects and be in touch with yourself. In fact, it’s the best week of the month for these types of activities.

On April 3rd, Venus enters Pisces, having been in Aries for the last two months. Pisces adds a sweetener to Venus. It makes her dreamy and romantic.  She’s still retrograde until the 15th, so fall in love with yourself again. Imagine and create calm, beauty and harmony – just for you.

On April 5th, Saturn goes retrograde (until August) creating traffic jams, anxiety and even fear. This is a good time to take stock of your duties and responsibilities and make sure everything’s in order. When Saturn is retrograde, it’s a chance to become patient, disciplined and to exercise self-restraint.

On April 6, Mars is in harmony with Pluto and when these powerhouses work together, you’re ambitious, driven and full of passionate energy.

The next day, the Sun opposes Jupiter making this a time of good luck, prosperity and optimism.

Week 2:

On April 8, Venus and Saturn add stress to relationships and with Mercury, the communication planet, going retrograde the next day, this is a good time to spend some time alone. Take advantage by seeking solitude as you’ll need to gear up again by the end of the week.

The next day, the Sun-square-Pluto leads to conflict to gain control and sheds light on your deep dark fears, so try to let things go and rise above the conflict. If you seek the higher meaning, you may be able to transform and heal to increase your inner power.

The Libra Full Moon on April 11th marks a time when the moon blends with the planet of good fortune, Jupiter. You’ll feel harmonious, optimistic and generous. This position marks a time of good fortune, yet this position favors those who dive deeply, work in integrity and align personal pursuits with the heart’s desires.

April 14 Sun kisses Uranus making you want change, independence and freedom. Be open-minded and welcome sudden and unexpected changes as these may become pleasant surprises, instead of shocking inconveniences.

Midmonth on April 15th, Venus goes direct bringing relief to the relationship and monetary aspects of your life.

Week 3:

On April 17, Venus excites Mars for a time of sexual excitement and attraction. This is also a time of confidence, assertion and charm. It’s a wonderful time for creativity and self-promotion.

The same day, the Sun tones Saturn making it an excellent time for recognition and promotion. You may achieve long-term goals and bring projects to fruition now. You may feel more contentment, satisfaction and higher self-esteem.

On April 19, the Sun enters Taurus, softening its energy into the love of peace, silence and calm. Celebrate this transition by being out in nature, spending time with your pets or listening to music.

The next day, the Sun combines with Mercury and focuses your attention on thinking and communication. This is an excellent time for business deals, sales and negotiation. However, with Mercury retrograde, make sure these interactions aren’t new, but ones started well before the 9th.

This same day, Pluto goes retrograde and stays there for about five months. This action causes us to explore our dark and uncomfortable places. Pluto loves to shed light onto the dark. Embrace this process and see where it takes you. Welcome it and gain its wisdom.

The powerhouse Mars enters Gemini on the 21st making you feel impatient, nervous and possibly angry. Use this nervous tension to move through this time, and be aware Venus conflicts with Saturn again this month, so perhaps it’s better to stay quiet and lay low.

Week 4:

On the 24th, Mercury complements Saturn making this a good time for administrative details, catching up on paperwork and practicality.  With Mercury retrograde, this is a good time to revisit contracts, review deals and reevaluate projects.

The New Moon in Taurus occurs on the 26th. This new moon is less energetic than last month’s. There’s a softening due to this blending of the sun and moon happening in the earth sign of Taurus instead of the fire sign Aries.

The major planetary configuration this year, Saturn trine Uranus, is activated by the messenger Mercury. This brings stunning insights and understanding which will lead to a positive transformation.

Saturn also trines the Sun-Moon combination adding support for mastery at this time. If you want to delve into the deep areas of your soul, it’ll feel good and even heartening to do so.

On April 28, Mercury merges exactly with Uranus adding excitement, inspirational ideas and keeping things at a high level. This isn’t a good time for concentration, focus, or attention to detail. Leave things loose for now.

April is a month of fueled energy with times for softening and catching your breath. It can be a month of frustration if you rail against the planetary energies or one of enlightenment if you lean into them.
