  November 2016 Forecast

The month of November is FRITZY. It’s a time of going inward and reaching outward. It’s a time of cautious faith, optimistic conservatism and erratic discipline. It’s a month of contradiction.

The card of the month is the Hanged Man.

The Hanged Man is a Tarot card from the Major Arcana, given the number seven, and traditionally displays a man hanging upside down suspended waiting – for what, we don’t know.

This card is a message of surrender and letting go – of the expected. In other words, expect the unexpected. When pushing toward achievement or attainment, this card tells us to wait instead. When sitting idly by expecting to receive, reach out with care.

If we typically push forward, the energies are telling us to gather ourselves, dig deeper, embrace patience and most of all, release control. Enter the flow of the Universe in a discernible and conservative fashion, even if Sagittarius is pushing us to expand, extend and intensify. Now is our time to breathe, relax and go inward.

If we typically wait for things to come to us, gently probe outward instead. Do so with discernment and intent. Reach out in a thoughtful and disciplined manner. Now is our time to have faith tempered with good judgment and to lean on close friends and loved ones.

The Astrology:

The sun is in Scorpio through November 21st when it enters Sagittarius. We experience this every year, so the deep psychological influence of Scorpio during late October into late November is one in which we are experienced. Every year we enter the Scorpion period where the veil between the worlds thins, the mysteries deepen and the transformative potential heightens. This deep inner work lightens considerably as the sun enters Sagittarius, where we find ourselves entering a period of optimism, brightness, faith and expansion.

This year, at the beginning of the month, the sun positively triggers our intuition and desire to explore our psychological and spiritual sides and then creates friction and tension at the end of the month for these very things. On November 7th, the sun excites our need to change the structure and form of our lives in a big way and perhaps, here in the U.S., this will lead to more people going to our local polling stations and voting for our next leaders.

The moon moves through its typical biweekly cycle of waxing and waning. This month the Scorpio new moon on October 30th waxes to its full position on November 14th in Taurus and wanes again into the new moon in Sagittarius at the end of the month.

Our emotional lives will begin the month in deep intensity with both the moon and the sun being in Scorpio. This is a good time to manifest transformation and rebirth. The full moon in Taurus mid-month lends a practical, earthy and quiet energy to our emotional bodies. We can take advantage of this energy by listening to music, spending time in the quiet and walking in nature.

On November 9th, Mars moves from Capricorn into Aquarius, giving Mars the feel of being attached to unconventional methods. This is an erratic energy of start and stop, push and pull versus the cautious warrior feeling with Mars in Capricorn. Although, we have a more intellectual and detached approach to problems, we will experience hit or miss in our tactics.

Both Mercury and Venus changes through signs, as they do every month. These quick moving planets are each out of bounds this month, making them more of themselves.

Venus has been out of bounds since the last week of October and will continue throughout this month, so our need for beauty, calm, relationships and love is heightened. On November 11th, however, when Venus enters Capricorn, the solitary, austere and serious planet tempers the goddess of love and beauty.

Mercury is all about intellect, communication, thought and perception and we will feel our mental abilities more acutely beginning on November 18th. The week prior, Mercury enters the energies of expansion, faith and optimism having come from the deep intense psychological sign of Scorpio. This will feel like a breath of fresh air on our mental bodies.

The out of bounds Mercury squares Neptune on November 18th adding confusion and lack of clarity to any conversation or business dealing. The next day Neptune turns direct from its retrograde position it entered in mid-June. Retrograde Neptune gives us the ability to cut through delusion by allowing us to see the harsh realities. Going direct, Neptune will once again hide these truths from us. In addition, intuition is perhaps heightened when Neptune is retrograde and these abilities may lessen as the planet turns direct.

On November 23rd, Mercury in Sagittarius is conjunct Saturn also in Sagittarius. Optimistic intelligent thoughts are influenced by Saturnian discipline, helping to ease the push of the Jupiter-Pluto square the next day.

The most significant transit happening in November is on the 24th when Jupiter squares Pluto. During this transit, we need to be careful in our pursuits for seeking success. We need to be cautious about throwing ourselves into something to the detriment of the other areas of our lives.

We may become overly enthusiastic about a new cause or idea that is ill fated and we will want to blindly follow it through anyway. With this transit, we will have a tendency to go to extremes. Tempering ourselves during this transit is HIGHLY recommended.

Regarding relationships, on November 25th, Venus and Pluto, both in Capricorn, become conjunct, which means they synthesize. The beauty, relationship and love goddess combines with the deep, intense, truth teller. Being in Capricorn smoothes the intensity but heightens the seriousness.

On this day, Venus also squares Libran Jupiter making this a fun time to gather with friends and family. It’s a great time to socialize. Care should be taken in relationships to not lower your standards as well as to keep a close eye on money and appetite. There may be a tendency to overindulge.

On November 29th, Capricorn Venus squares Aries Uranus and the full moon is in Sagittarius. We may feel the urge for sudden changes in relationship and be able to philosophize why this is a really good idea. Also, we may be able to talk ourselves into spending lots of money in unnecessary ways.

Taking care, being conservative and thinking things through will not be our prevailing desire, but we should take heed and do so to start the month of December on firm footing.

Overarching influences felt by the slow moving planets need to be addressed, even though we have become familiar with these energies.

Jupiter in Libra restores balance, cooperation and harmony. The big open-minded planet of Jupiter entered Libra in September and will remain there for 13 months. We can expect more alliances and diplomatic approaches to global issues. The last time Jupiter was in Libra, Condoleezza Rice was sworn in as Secretary of State, our first African-American woman to do so here in America. Perhaps the more tolerant and fair-minded energy of this combination foretells of our presidency and even the Supreme Court.

Saturn has been in Sagittarius since September 2015 and will remain there until December 2017. Saturn connotes maturity, achievement, conservation, reality, responsibility and effort. Conversely, Sagittarius is about optimism, faith, expansion and motion. Combining these energies speaks to expanding responsibly, growing authentically, and philosophizing practically. We can expect discipline in our perhaps excessive optimism and establishing healthy boundaries in a positive way.

Uranus entered Aries in May 2010 and remains there until March 2019. Uranus is explosive, revolutionary and unpredictable while Aries is warrior like and somewhat militant. The last time Uranus was in Aries, 1927 through 1935, we saw the rise of Adolf Hitler. We need to be watchful that we do not succumb to a position of anger when opening ourselves to global leaders’ positions and political issues. Uranus is in the middle of its retrograde period in 2016, specifically late July through late December, which can lead to setbacks.

The Uranian independent self-starter having attained fame and fortune may have a breakdown when seeking negative attention. This is a time to temper anger by finding healthy outlets and respecting fire and electricity. Be extra conscious of turning off your ovens after each use and unplugging electrical devices when going away for Thanksgiving.

Neptune entered Pisces in 2012 and will remain there until 2025. Neptune is at home in Pisces, giving us a feeling of being connected to each other and the universe. Neptune in Pisces leads us to explore our inner lives, to dissipate our egos and to generally serve the greater good. This Neptunian energy opposes the fiery selfish nature of Uranus in Aries.

In 2016, we are halfway through Pluto’s transit of Capricorn, 2008 – 2024, as Pluto requires reform of toxic situations and brings authenticity to every aspect of our lives. Pluto sheds light on the dark and Capricorn manifests on the earthly plane. Capricorn involves control, structures and systems and we can observe Pluto’s influence on Capricorn in our physical world. We shed light on what is wrong with our world, especially in the areas of finance, government and the environment. Over the last eight years, we have observed the destruction of our financial system leading to greater regulation and control, the changes in world governments and the expansion of affordable alternative energy sources.

The last time Pluto was in Capricorn, 1762 – 1779, the world saw America seeking independence from Britain. Certainly, we can relate to the change and upheaval in governmental structure.

Stone of the Month:

For those seeking ease this month, November’s stone is jade. Jade represents purity and serenity. It enhances wisdom gathered in tranquility. So meditating with this stone is recommended.

Jade corresponds with our heart chakra and can be used to increase love and nurturing. It is a protective stone that can provide good luck and harmony.

Jade integrates the mind with the body. It releases negative thoughts to soothe the mind and cleanses us physically. It can also be used as a dream stone for emotional releases.

If you do not have an actual jade stone, you can also meditate on its energies to bring relief to the erratic and contradictory energy of this month. Call on its energies if you need the wisdom of caution, especially at the end of the month.

As always, wishing you joy,

Kim
